Crafted from love but formed via the internet, Mt. Nadir's origins began from a jam night between hometown friends bassist Jake Mallet and drummer Conor Harris. Originally both hailing from Mackay, the pair had relocated to Brisbane and re-sparked their dream to form a band. Quickly into the night, the pair realised they were unlikely to become the next Royal Blood & decided they would put a call out on Brisbane Music Scene's Facebook group. From that call-out, front-person Frankie Rosbrook & Lead Guitarist Jaina Sacranie both joined and in that formed Mt. Nadir.

Since then, Meanjin's beloved have been making all kinds of noise since coming onto the scene from playing festivals to Triple J features, the band have continued to grow at a rapid rate and are constantly pushing their sound into the ears of new listeners.

A 7-track project - including 5 songs & 2 interludes, the backbones of what would become the EP were formed across many jam sessions amongst the band with some tracks birthed in their first few practices. The songs were later brought to life with the band's producer & engineer Emily Hopley, who has been a staple collaborator with the band since its beginning, out of Airlock Studios in Samford, Queensland. Emily also played a hand in mixing all of these tracks and featured on keys across several as well. The mastering for Growing Pain was done by Matthew Gray out his own studio in Brisbane.
